It’s kind of funny, prepping before the gym

One thing I have noticed that I always do is prepare myself more before I go to the gym than I do for work or a formal event.  Not like mentally or emotionally, which probably would help me workout a lot better, but completely superficially.

I realized, before I go to the gym I spend roughly an hour fixing my skin, doing my hair, using products like MoroccanOil Oil Treatment to dry my hair faster and bring out the color while I am running or in class, I use more product and style the heck out of my hair and completely moisturize my face and put it together more carefully than when I go on a date.  The thing is that this is absolutely ridiculous to do considering I am about to workout, get sweaty and then shower right after I finish my workout while I am at the gym.

When I think about it it makes no sense why I go through so much trouble every time I workout, but when I really think about it I do it all to try to impress the guys.  This again makes no sense.  We are there to workout, sure there is a lot of flirting and people stare and give each other the eye, but the gym isn’t neccesarily a place to try to pick someone up.  When I really think about it, I should be focusing all of this energy on my workout and getting better at it but instead I am focusing on being the best looking and the most attractive.  It is pretty funny to see where people’s priorities actually lie when they are supposed to be doing something but then realize they aren’t actually doing it as best as they can.  Anyways, I am going to do my best to try and avoid doing all the prep work and beauty work on myself before I go to the gym and really see if I spend the extra time focusing on my workout if it will actually start to make a difference for me on the way that I work out and get myself into even better shape.

Hair Care and Hair Product Gift Certificates

Something that some people don’t really think about when they get depressed or have a friend that gets depressed is what is causing the depression and how you can help them.  With the new year starting and everyone making resolutions, sometimes that has a really negative effect on some people because they really start to think about their lives and why they need to change, what caused them to get out of shape, to start smoking or even to develop a lifestyle they would have never thought they would have had to have lived.

Luckily with the new year, people start off by thinking about and planning to make changes in their lives and although some people pick up a new dress like a goal dress for loosing weight or puts pictures up in their house of bikinis and other things but in reality, those things seem like a great idea but don’t always work and in my opinion do not work for everyone or for long periods of time.  The other thing is that if the person is depressed about their lifestyle choices and those pictures and bikinis on the wall and fridge may actually be motivational at first, but could also negatively effect you emotionally in the long run.  I never recommend hanging your goal dress up and one thing I do think that can actually work and actually help make a difference to get your new years resolution is to help your friend or even yourself get off to a new start with making a huge new change.  Now you cannot completely go and just get lipo or other things, but what you can do to kick start the diet without creating negative feelings or hanging goal clothing is to get a complete makeover.

I’m not talking about clothing or new furntiure, but something that changes you every time you see yourself like a brand new hair style, hair color and even some better and newer skin care products.  This is also perfect for your friends who are depressed.

Every time they look in the mirror, instead of seeing the depressed over weight, bad lifestyle person they were used to seeing, they are going to see someone new with a better look and that can be different, can quit smoking and can loose the weight.

Big Beautiful Red Hair.

One thing I have been noticing a lot lately which is a completely unexpected surprise to the fashion world is that red hair and red heads are coming back in full force. Now, it isn’t the big red hair bouffants that our favorite divas like Peggy Bundy from Married With Children wore, but red hair that is still big, but more beautiful and more modern or at least fashion forward.

Anyways, in honor of the big red hair making a serious comeback recently, I thought I would take a post and honor some of the lovely ladies, Carrot Top, etc… are going to be left out of this one, sorry guys, and share some of our very favorite big red hair hairdos from our leading ladies with big red hair. Lets call it a big red hair history lesson for all the people who love their big red hair and are helping to bring big red hair back into style and fashion.

The next leading lady on our list is probably the biggest red head in the world with the most memorable red hair everywhere.  Although we would love to give the historical red hair to Willma Flinstone, unfortunately her hair wasn’t high enough to even compete with this lovely lady.  The historical red hair diva award goes the fabulous and famous Miss Bette Midler.   Unfortunately the Divine Miss M went blond in her later years but even though we still love her, nothing compared with that huge red hair from Beaches and the 80’s.  Bette we loved the red but I love the Blond even more.  Thank you also for the amazing show in Vegas.  If you haven’t had a chance to see her live, you need to go to the Bette Midler show.  She is amazing!

Ok, the last lady wins the most fabulous leading lady with red hair.  Normally Bette would have won the most fabulous leading lady with red hair, but because of her role in the movie Troop Beverly Hills, nothing screams fabulous more than the ever deserving Shelly Long.

Not only is she the best dressed red hair diva in the world, but her use of the word fabulous, her lifestyle and fashion sense give us the right to call her character and her the diva and winner of the most fabulous red haired diva in the world.  Shelly we love you and hope to see you and your red hair in many more Movies.

Other honorable mentions include Goldie Hawn (My Personal Favorite) in Death Becomes her with the fabulous Meryl Streep, Lindsey Lohan and many others.  The only reason they didn’t make the list is that their hair was never worn high enough. Happy New Years from Hair Care Discounters

Wow I cannot believe the New Years is already here, and not only is it a brand new decade, but we are also now in a brand new season for hair.  Or at least starting to get a glimpse as to what we should expect for early spring hair and spring hair styles, colors, fashions and trends.

Now I know Valentines Day hasn’t even happened yet and most of us are still recovering from New Years Eve but I am soo excited with the big hair this winter because what we could start to expect to see for Valentines Day and then moving into the spring hair and fashion season is big shiney and curly hair.

Now I am not talking about high hair or over permed hair since that is completely out, but hair that looks like Kim’s wig from the Real Housewives of Atlanta on Bravo.  Gorgeous big beuatiful blond shiney curls that not only look amazing but also work to help show off how gorgeous your face, cheekbones, etc…. all look.  Heck, even on the Biggest Looser season finale or near finale show last night, the hostess was wearing some gorgeous big and beautiful curls with her amazing looking blonde hair as well.

Anyways, I am loving the way it looks because if I am guessing correctly, we’ll see the hair start to straighten out for the spring, but still be curly and by summer get to see 90’s hair like short pixie cuts, assymetric bobs and a ton of other really cool styles, colors and highlights coming back full force.

Some Seriously Cool Hairstyles Shaped Like Animals

So I came across this blog the other month and then recently decided to look it up again.  Not only do they have some of the coolest hairstyles on earth and really offbeat fashion articles, but when I saw these hair styles where the hair stylists and artist took the models hair and sculpted the hair style to be shaped like animals.

Not only was it shaped like animals, but the detail work of all of the animal shaped hair styles was absolutely insane with everything from the ears to the eyes and the mouth and the teeth, etc…  These hair styles are absolutely insane and the amount of time that the stylist had to have taken to style the hair style, not to mention the skill it must have taken to be able to create and turn someone’s hair into a realistic looking animal when most of us cannot even sculpt one out of clay or other mediums.

Anyways, the website I found is called Masalatime.com and if you click the link you will find the post where you can find some seriously cool and insane hair styles where the hair artists shaped the model’s hair like animals and these hair styles are absolutely insane and something you all have to see.

I love the elephant styled hair style and think that it is absolutely amazing.  The mouth, the trunk and everything and I am guessing the artist not only used gates or metal wires or something to hold the shape, but the artist also got the model’s hair to look absolutely amazing and silky which completely added to the amazing look of the hair artwork that the hair artist had done.  I also wonder what types of hair products the hair artist has used like mousse, shine sprays, etc… and think that they definitely had to use something like Moroccan Oil or something to get the hair to shine and look that amazing, even if it is only weave or a wig.

Even though the elephant hair style is above and beyond my favorite, I also love the dog one because who can’t look at that puppy’s face and not smile.
